What Be Your Nerd Type?
Your Result: Anime Nerd

If anyone is likely to dress up in a crazy outfit, you are! You enjoy the visual stimulants of intense art accompanied with deep plots of fantasy, science-fiction, real-life; or you are just obsessed with Japan and everyone and everything in it. They love to gather with people like themselves at conventions and act crazy! The anime nerds are often associated with the stereotype of being the "psychotic" nerd, because they tend to be obsessive over their characters and series.

You psycho! I'm just kidding! But seriously, all forms of art should be appreciated, and anime is definitely one of them.

Sixpence none the richer: Kiss me (Japanese)
Yep, what it says. They actually did a completely Japanese version of the song. I heard it on i-radio, went 'wth?', was able to verify that it is in fact true. But I was unable to find a working version of it to post for you :/

zomg. I forgot how much I liked techno. There is just something so tiring about voices. I always preferred classical, instrumental soundtracks, teckno type stuff.

Aural Vampire
Aural Vampire is...well, techno-goth, so its underground stuff even in Japan. Impossible to find info and CDs for. She has a myspace, it just got re-vamped (hahaha) yesterday so its not all working yet. You can currently download 3 songs, including Darkwater Surfer (you have to scroll down to you see the 'Special Download, 'Death Folder' Free). It also lists a few Japanese places you can order the CD from with a promise of listing a US/EU locations sometime.

Aural Vampire: Darkwave Surfer
This is the most fun one I've come across yet! xD

I can't find an official video for it, so this is a decent fan video to it. NOTE: video contains various artists, not just Aural Vampire. And be sure to stretch before listening to any Aural Vampire tracks cause you will hurt something :p

Here is another fun one that was posted by iseebi. They are called Perfume, I forget the song. But watching them is as much fun as the song :3 they are disgustingly cute too!

minor mid-life crisis
http://www.japanaradio.com This one is pretty good. It actually has decent top 40ish music. I'm not sure what some of these J-radio stations are playing. It even has an anime tunes hour :3

I've giving some thought to why I've been in some of my weird moods lately. i've decided that I've aged at different speeds, so that some aspects are still 10 years old, while others are more "up to date". Music for example. I used to listen to music 24/7 just like any teen. But it has now been years since I really paid any attention at all to the music scene. I couldn't tell you a single english speaking top 20 song/artist. It the past 5 years, I've prolly only bought 5 non-classical/violin CDs (to be honest, I've always had a classical fetish...and violins make me think kinky thoughts <3). Thus my recent attempt at revival of music in my life, via Japanese music. Its not really working though. Music was always a background thing for me. something that was going on in the distance from creative endeavors. I have no creative endeavors...so the music seems like its 'incomplete'. :/

Speaking of my recent re-culturation of Japaneseyness, I watched Princess Blade (Shura Yuki-hime) last night. Its one of my favourite Japanese movies xD. I'm also about half way though a book of Murakami Short stories. Murakami is an acquired taste, but his books'll make you cream your shorts ^_~ There are countless masses of authors and so few worth the paper their name is printed on.

I've also been trying to make sense of the Lotus Sutra and working on my kanji calligraphy. Its like I've had an allergic reaction to my own culture, lol.

YUKI: Joy video
Gakked from iseebi

Its Yuki (previously of Mary and Judy = which broke up in 2001, I think it was). Some of my Japanese freinds were in tears over the break up of Mary and Judy T_T I have several of their LPs just because they made me, lol.

Very catchy song. Pretty interesting for a Japanese pop-vid too.

I'm listening to Asian http://www.bigbradio.com/home.htm which is much more soft than the website opening and appearence suggest, but nice. I hate it when i-net radio don't show playlists >.<*

Kinda just bored at work. With no game to obsess over, I'm not real sure what to do with myself when I don't have to actually work. >.>" Been reading lots of HP #6, but I don't want to sit and read at the moment. So... la la la la xD

I managed to escape Feb with only spending $5. O_O That excludes bills of course. Not even a coffee though. So my cumulative excess expenditures for 2007 is now up to about $15. lol. On the other hand, I've made extra payments on my school loans and payed for another class/books.

I've rather gotten it into my head (as a sort of attempt at finding a hobby) to build a model of Inuyama-jou. I have started it...I have built a square for the foundation first and second floors....fear my artistic prowess, I have a square! -_-" I've had very poor luck with finding any sort of actual floor plans for anything of the Japanese Feudal period. So I am working from tourist photos and winging it.

I have a long political whinge I want to make. But I'm not in the mood atm. I know. *Tear*.

Oh, I looked up Tonk's "wotcher" to see what it meant. Its a southern Britain greeting, short for 'what cheer'. And I just can't get over the term, snogging. LOL

I really need to get out of here. I should take that TESL course, or just move to Wales for no good reason.

Post for Posts sake
Well.....um..... After sitting someones account for 2 weeks on my stupid game (as well as playing mine during war -_-") I decided to put my account on 'vacation mode' for a few days to get away from it. So, I'm halfway through Harry Potter #6. HP #5 was a horrible read. I'm so glad that this one is much better. Its actually funny and interesting again. When Harry did that 'pretend to put the lucky potion in Rons glass', I was like, zomg! Harry did something clever without someone having told him to do it! lol.

Its pretty funny seeing poor Harry in between Ron and Hermoines bickering and jealousies. ^.^"

So any bets on favourites to win the 2008 election? Its a ways off, but its always fun to speculate. I still think its between Hillary and McCain.

I also watched, due to request of mom, Jeff Foxworthys gameshow, "Are you smarter than a 5th Grader?". Its mildly entertaining, just caus Foxworthy makes fun of the contestants. But its not really a stretch to realize that adults don't remember anything from school. Thats just how it works, you learn it then forget it the minute you don't have a use for it anymore. Its fun to watch college grads struggle with elementary knowledge, but I've found that the more I learn the less I know. Education is a marathon of endurance and self-application. Being smart really has little to do with it. Having a degree doesn't make you intelligent.

Reply from Sen. Moran
So, right after I graduated, my grandpa was adament that I 'contact my local politicians' about hints and advise about getting into IR/diplomatic posts. This was about 4 months ago or so. Out of the 4 representatives and 3 senators that I contacted (I also contacted a Sen from Iowa who is chair of an Intl Relations sub-committee), I finally got my second reply. The other being the local rep that lives down the street >.>

Dear Mr. Tarpley :

Congratulations on graduating from Griffith University . I hope you were able to share this special day with family and friends even with the distance.

It is encouraging to see your desire to use your education to the fullest extent possible. O ur country has become much more globally connected in the past several years. It is important for Americans to know what is going on around the world and to have an understanding of cultures different from ours. You have had a unique experience. Cherish these memories and I would encourage you to share them with all who will listen.

Again, congratulations and best wishes. Please let me know when I can be of service.

Very truly yours,

Jerry Moran

lol. I thought I had asked for some advise...darn them political interns that answer the mail and impersonate their patrons. Guess my "contribution/bribe" wasn't significant enough...

I had tried to explain to my grandfather what a waste of time that it would be to contact my politicians. But again, at the very least....4 months later, he did actually reply.
